8:45 – 9:15 Drop off – Settling in time
9:15 – 10:00 Chess coaching, evaluation & grouping
10:00 -11:30 Chess group activities (coaching, play & more!)
11:30 – 1:00 Stations (games, gym, playground… always chess!) and lunch!
1:00 – 2:30 Chess Group Activities (coaching, playing & more!)

CAMPS LOCATIONS

Village Chess @ SoHo 108 Wooster Street #C2

The Coolest Camps in the world take place here in the heart of Soho. Chess training and play takes place in our new space, just blocks from our former location and the World Famous Washington Square Park, just one more block away…Cooling runs through the fountain are a highlight of the days of Summer! This Boutique Camp is capped @ 40 Kids and is subject to selling out Only the “Cool” need apply.

PS 183 Upper East Side 419 East 66th Street

Hosted in the friendly confines of PS 183, this Upper East Side location enjoys a terrific playing area, gymnasium, playground and (during the Summer) a dunk tank! (don’t tell the kids, they think it’s a pool) The Camp takes place on the grounds of the school except for our 1 block sojourn to the Park and an end of day (Ice Cream) treat.

Whether Uptown or Downtown

Chess NYC‘s policy of “Chess Should be Fun” truly prevails for these cool days of Fun & Training and GM Inspired Tag Camps! From Chess Leaders to Grand Master, these Camps are sure to captivate, motivate and generate Chess players.

Three hours of Chess activities are threaded through each full 8 hour day, led by Chess NYC‘s Championship Coaching Staff. But that’s just the beginning…outdoor fun, water play, sports, light cartoons, optional Pizza lunch ($10) and Ice Cream ($7), and other activities thrill (coax where necessary) and prepare attendees for the next upcoming Chess activities.

Of course, Chess is always available (and even encouraged) and young Chess enthusiasts play much more (some of our kids are very, very advanced). From absolute beginners to advanced players, Chess NYC’s philosophy is to engage each child on their individual level and appetite to play. This approach successfully minimizes resistance and maximizes progress and…as a result…everyone associates Chess with Fun! At the end of a great day, they’ve had @ least 3 hours of Chess!… A week? 15 hours…A month? 60 hours! Prop(p)er dosage for all.

FUN & TRAINING™

Each full 8-hour day of our Fun & Training™ Camps features a continuous integration of Chess activities led by Chess NYC’s Championship Coaching Staff, spanning a total of three hours. However, the chess-related excitement is just the beginning! To enhance the overall experience and prepare participants for upcoming Chess activities, we offer a variety of additional outdoor fun, water play, sports, and thrilling activities (with gentle encouragement when needed). Light Cartoons can be included upon parental request, or alternative enjoyable activities can be provided instead.

GM-INSPIRED TAG – DIABOLICAL TRAINING

An even more competitive and sporting environment for Chess players promises to be life-changing for those committed to play. While still Chess NYC FUN, this is a serious one; only those committed to successfully competing in the game of Chess should enroll in this more rigorous opportunity. Day-to-day coaching will be provided by GMs and a host of other Masters, Candidate Masters, and Super Expert Chess NYC Coaches!
Exciting special guests, stop by too! A day or week of rigorous coaching, Chess play, and social time will prepare everyone to be their very (Chess) best and provide a decided edge in the competition…Guaranteed.

ONLINE CAMPS

Here’s another fantastic opportunity that extends to the entire world! These camps are truly amazing, as long as you can join us between 9 am and 5 pm on weekdays when schools are closed. It’s Chess NYC TIME! These camps replicate the experience of being physically present, except that you can participate from wherever you are. Let’s dive into the world of chess and have some fun!

Chess NYC Camps are nut free, with no nuts, peanut butter…or anything else “nutty.” Thanks
Chess Players should check in with $17. for Lunch($10) at 11:30 am and Ice Cream($7) at approximately 3:30 pm OR have a packed lunch/snack (AGAIN…no nuts, Please)
Seasonally, Chess Players should have a sweater and warm jacket or change of clothes, sunscreen, and towels…cause, weather permitting, we are heading outside too!
